Setenil Rental Home - Bella Vista
A rare opportunity to experience real Spain staying in one of the most famous cave dwellings in Setenil de las Bodegas.
Bella Vista is a beautifully preserved 3 bedroom home with room for 2 - 6 guests in 3 bedrooms. The home has been owned by the same family for more than 3 generations and retains all of the character of the typical cave homes of the village with all of the original period features typical of old Andalucian village homes.
This property is probably the most photographed home in Setenil de las Bodegas, which is famous as one of the most beautiful villages in Andalucia, Spain and indeed Europe.
It's location of Calle Jaboneria, famous for the homes built under the overhanging cliffs, is superb for discovering the village, just a 5 minute walk to the famous Cave Bars and restaurants, the church and plaza.
Guests can park outside the property on Calle Jaboneria. The property has two private terraces one in front of the property on the entrance level and the other on the first floor. Both have superb views over the river to the church and the village.
On the ground floor there is a lounge with many period features, seating for 6 guests, TV and a pellet burner for heating the whole property in the winter months.
The lounge leads through to the kitchen, dining room and guest WC. The fitted kitchen while retaining it's old character does have all the neccessary appliances with fridge freezer, oven and hob.
The dining room has seating for 6 guests and again is very much has it has been for the past 60 years.
Stairs leads to the first floor where there are three bedrooms and the bathroom. There are two double bedrooms and a twin room. All the brdooms have lovely views out over the valley and the village. In the twin room, which also has a private balcony, you can see the exposed rocks of the cliffs which the house is built into.
Further stairs lead to the roof terrace on the second floor with beautiful views of the church, valley and white washed village. A superb place to spend time, relaxing with a glass of the local Setenil wine.
The village of Setenil de las Bodegas is quickly becoming popular with tourists as more and more people discover it's stunning natural beauty, with many of the spectacular homes and bars built into the natural caves carved out in the past centuries by the River Guadalporcún.
The amazing Easter processions, which take place day and night during Semana Santa (Easter week) are very famous and attract visitors from all over Andalucia and beyond.
This is a home for those seeking to experience real Spain in one of the most beautiful villages in Europe. It is far more than simply a place to sleep - it is an experience, akin to stepping back in time for many Northern Europeans.
